Release Orders

The Release Orders function is the starting point of Warehouse Management's order fulfillment process. This function collects item and quantity information from Sales Order, Production, Service Director, and Warehouse Management transfers and material requisitions for all transactions that are due to be picked and shipped. After you build a list of the orders and need to fulfill, you can print a picking list and pull items from inventory.

You can narrow the list of orders retrieved by this function so that it contains only sales orders, or only production components, or a combination of transfers and requisitions.

If you use a multi-user system, Warehouse Management groups released orders by user and workstation ID. You can view the orders that were released by another user on a different workstation in the Record Picked Orders function, but you can only enter picked quantities and apply them to your own orders.

  1. Use the Data Filter to select the range of filtering options or leave the filter blank to include all available data.
  2. Enter a new pick ID or select an existing pick ID you want to associate with the orders from the Pick ID field.
  3. Select the types of orders to include from the Include Orders section.
  4. Select whether to include comments by selecting the Comments check box.

    OK Begin processing.
    Activity Display the Activity Log to view released order activity.
    Reset Set all fields to their default values.
    Clear Clear all fields of their current values.
